Thanks to generous funding from Powerco, Paeroa Rotary, and Paeroa Lions, we were able to purchase a new test and tag machine for electronics and provide additional hours for a staff member to clear a backlog of electronic items. This funding has had a significant impact on our operations and our community.

Enhancing safety and quality

Thanks to the collaborative funding from Paeroa Rotary and Paeroa Lions, we were able to purchase a new test and tag machine which has revolutionised our process for handling electronic donations. Instead of relying on volunteers, we can now efficiently test and ensure the safety and quality of all electronic items and appliances before they are sold. Every household appliance is checked for safety - if it is safe, it goes in the shop for sale. If it's not electronically safe, then it is processed as e-waste recycling.

Increasing community access

Thanks to the Powerco Community Fund, we were able to increase staff hours to keep up with the increased demand and maintain a steady flow of high-quality, tested electronics. With the backlog of electronic items cleared, we have been able to put more items on our shelves, available for purchase. All sorts of household appliances such as crockpots, heaters, and electric frying pans have been sold to the community at affordable prices, just in time for those warm winter meals.
