We’re Hiring: General Manager (Fixed Term)

The Hauraki Reuse Centre Trust is looking for a General Manager to help strengthen operations, support governance, and explore sustainable funding opportunities. This 10-hour per week, three-month fixed-term role is designed to advance our strategic direction while assessing long-term viability.


🔹 Location: Hauraki Repair + Reuse Centre (Paeroa)

🔹 Term: 3 months fixed-term (10 hours/week)


About us:

The Hauraki Reuse Centre Trust exists to oversee the Hauraki Repair and Reuse Centre for the benefit of our local community. We provide resource recovery facilities that offer alternatives to landfill — repurposing, reusing, and repairing materials wherever possible. We aim to educate the community around the environmental benefits of reducing waste.


About the role:

As General Manager, you’ll lead efforts to strengthen operations and financial sustainability, actively seeking funding to extend the role beyond the initial contract period. You’ll work closely with the Trust to support governance and ensure alignment with our charitable purpose and strategic plan.


Key responsibilities:

✅ Support current operations

✅ Implement strategic initiatives to enhance operations and impact

✅ Explore funding and business opportunities to secure long-term sustainability

✅ Lead stakeholder engagement and community outreach

✅ Provide financial oversight and reporting to the Trust


Who we’re looking for:

🔸A strategic thinker with leadership experience in sustainability, community development, or nonprofit management

🔸Someone adept at securing funding and developing sustainable revenue streams

🔸A proactive, solutions-focused leader ready to drive impactful change
